Making A Difference…

Nikola Tesla by Napoleon Sarony

Nikola Tesla by Napoleon Sarony

Whether it’s Tolrek recovering in a QikMed or the Kaved Force Field protecting Armando and Izdahl, I love to feature technology in my stories. That’s why I admire brilliant people like Nikola Tesla, a prolific inventor. The Oatmeal started an awesome project to honor him. Check it out and contribute if you can!

Vaironian Tides: Chapter 37

stressDarion deals with Tolrek’s frustration about the challenges he faced during the past few years, in Vaironian Tides, Chapter 37. Here’s an excerpt:

Darion covered Tolrek’s left hand, which had formed a fist on the table. Then, he squeezed Tolrek’s arm to soothe his lover, who refused the attempt at comfort. Instead, Tolrek stood and left the dining room, going out to the balcony. The crisp night air of the empire’s capital cooled his skin. He took several deep breaths, as he tried to get himself under control, gripping the marble banister of the balcony. A chunk of it crumbled and fell to the manicured lawn below. His eyes traveled the length of the balcony’s banister and saw that various cracks had appeared through it.

Writing Inspiration: Cherry Blossoms

It’s usually towards the end of March, when cherry blossoms are blooming. One of the most beautiful sights is viewing the delicate petals fluttering across lush greenery or over vibrant water.

Architect’s Guardian: Chapter 43

fire-eatersIzdahl learns just how unprepared he is the dangerous Elite Fire Sparring, in The Architect’s Guardian, Chapter 43. Here’s an excerpt:

Despite Armando’s earlier words to be careful, Izdahl was failing to properly defend himself. Metienne’s knee fiercely connected with his ribs, sending shock waves through his body. Her follow-up punch to his throat sent him stumbling to the floor, as he fought to breathe. Increasing her power output, Metienne executed a vicious kick that sent him flying six feet into a nearby wall. Before he could get his bearings, a barrage of fireballs outlined his slumped body, the heat of them burning his hair and clothing, exposing skin.

Aerosmith has offered so much, for over four decades, but “Dream On” is one of their best songs.
